Industry meetups can be more effective than job fairs
This is hands down one of the best ways to meet people, especially meetup groups that meet on a regular basis where you see the same faces on a consistent bases. You might be shy to strike up a convo initially (like me!), but eventually you’ll work up the courage. I’ve used meetups to make new friends in new cities, to build a team of advisors for my startup, and to pivot into new industries.
